You may consume amla juice, amla candy or amla syrup on a daily basis. Some people don’t like its taste as it tastes very sour.

If that’s the case, you could even opt for Ayurvedic amla tablets. Some people prefer applying amla oil to the hair once every week. The direct application of amla on the scalp is very effective.

You may also wash your hair with amla powder that is easily available at any local Ayuverdic store. This saves your hair from sulphate shampoos that can practically damage and destroy the pH of your hair. 

2. Sesame Seeds

Sesame seeds are of two types: white and black. The black ones are more effective in reversing the white or grey hair. Both types of sesame have a lot of antioxidants that can prevent your hair follicles from premature ageing.

You may take a small spoon of sesame seeds every day in the morning. Simply roast and chew them or mix them in your smoothies. If you don’t like their taste, you may massage your hair weekly once with sesame oil too.

The combination of oral consumption and topical application of sesame is unbeatable.

3. Clarified Butter or Ghee

Cow’s milk or ghee is considered to be extremely pure and potent in treating many hair problems. It is full of energy and youth-boosting antioxidants and vitamins A, K, D, and E.

These can prevent the premature ageing of skin cells and hair follicles.

You may massage your hair with clarified butter an hour before washing your hair. Although some people don’t like its smell, they love the results it provides. 

4. Almonds

Almonds have high amounts of magnesium and copper that promote healthy hair growth. The copper in almond is said to boost the production of melanin which can naturally prevent your hair from greying.

You may consume 5-8 almonds every morning with your breakfast. This is an ideal solution to prevent white hair growth.

However, you may also add almonds in other ways to your diet. You may consume almond butter, add chopped almonds to your smoothies or your salads.

Some people prefer applying almond oil to their hair and massaging their scalp with it. This helps the scalp absorb the minerals directly.

5. Henna Treatment

When your white hair become unmanageable, you may want to colour them. However, chemical bleaching or colouring can make it worse. These chemicals may increase the greying of hair as well as lead to hair fall. 

Hence, traditional remedies suggest naturally colouring the hair with henna treatment. You can take some herbal Mehendi and add some Amla, Bhringraj, Baheda, and Shikakai.

6. Bhringraj

In Ayurveda, Bhringraj or Eclipta Prostrata can prevent greying of hair very easily. This ancient and traditional herbal remedy has been used in many Asian countries, especially in India, to strengthen hair, promote hair grown, prevent hair fall and prevent premature greying of hair.

You may add Bhringraj powder in your herbal shampoo paste or massage your hair with Bhringraj oil. Note that some oils may have amla and Bhringraj together as they make a great anti-ageing pair for your hair.

7. Beetroot

For a natural red or pigmented hair colour, beetroot should be eaten and applied to your hair regularly. This helps you get rid of white hair pretty fast.

The remedy is quick as it only covers your white hair with its pigmented colour. You may need to repeat this several times.

Consuming beetroot helps your body look and feel younger as it promotes blood circulation and haemoglobin count. It can prevent white hair if they’ve been greying due to diet and stress.

8. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is said to moisturize your scalp and nourish your hair follicles. The people who wash their hair every day may lose the moisture content of their hair and disturb the pH of the scalp. Hence, washing hair every day should be avoided if your hair is dry. 

In case it is unavoidable, you may choose to massage your hair with mildly warm coconut oil every night. This prevents greying of hair caused due to lack of moisture or pollution.
