Herbal Home Remedies For Low Blood Pressure: A Safe Solution

Low blood pressure is as dangerous as high blood pressure. One may suffer from it forever if proper treatment is not received.

It is very difficult to be dependent on medicines for your whole life. Low blood pressure is extremely dangerous as it reduces the blood flow to your organs and this can often result in dizziness, nausea, or even weight loss in rare cases. In order to overcome it, most people pop a pill every day. 

Though there is not a permanent cure to treat low blood pressure, one may try his own ways to deal with it.

You may experience or suffer from low blood pressure for various reasons. It may be due to your lifestyle or eating habits, less body movement or excessive activities, stress or some antibacterial or antifungal medications too.

1. Salt

Consuming salt can raise your body’s sodium levels as salt or saltwater is often associated with hypertension (high blood pressure). Raising your blood pressure levels is the best way to balance your blood pressure. 

You may also consume other foods that have high sodium levels in them. Such foods include cheese, meats, soy sauce, fish, salted nuts and butter. You may even drink a glass of water with two or three pinches of salt. Don’t always consume salt, this is just an immediate relief measure. 

When you experience dizziness, your body may require a bit of sodium or glucose. So it is best consumed when you experience sudden dizziness. 

You may simply add half teaspoon of salt to a glass of water and consume to the saline solution to instantly gain energy or raise your blood pressure. 

2. Caffeine

Caffeine is said to have properties that can awaken and energize us. When you consume a cup of coffee or black tea, the caffeine content in it is said to boost your heart rate and raise your blood pressure too.

You may boil a cup of water and add one to two teaspoons of coffee. Bring it to a boil and consume it twice a day. You may consume it whenever you notice your energy levels fall low.

Remember, drinking caffeine is a temporary home remedy and not a permanent solution to treat low blood pressure. Excessive caffeine intake may also cause side-effects.

3. Licorice

Licorice consumption is said to elevate blood pressure levels. It can be considered as a treatment of low blood pressure as it is also added in many medicines that help increase blood pressure levels in adults.

You may consume licorice that is available in dietary supplements or get it in the form of a non-jelly candy. Having one licorice candy or the suggested pills of supplement can consequently raise your blood pressure levels.

In most cases, it has treated the condition permanently too. However, if you’re allergic to herbs, you may want to consult your doctor first.

4. Rosemary

Like oregano, rosemary is used as a garnishing herb in many dishes, especially pizza and pasta. Dried rosemary can have many medicinal properties such as blood purification and treating hypotension.

As rosemary has antihypotensive properties, rosemary essential oil can be diluted and consumed too. It also treats such health-related quality of life problems in individuals with hypotension or low blood pressure.

5. Almond Milk

Almond milk is the healthiest way to consume your daily milk intake. Low blood pressure patients can consume it since it has no harmful fats or cholesterol causing properties.

Almond milk has essential fats such as Omega-3 fatty acids. These are exceptionally good for you if you have a low blood pressure.

To make pure almond milk at home, you need about 5 to 6 big almonds. Soak the almonds in the water and peel their skin in the morning.

You may then take a pan and add some water and add the peeled almonds to the pan. The crushed paste is your freshly made almond milk.

Doctors recommend adding almond milk to your diet, in your smoothies or salads every day.

6. Tulsi or Holy Basil

Tulsi is also known as Holy Basil. It is very famous for its medicinal properties such as being anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, therapeutic, adaptogenic and cardioprotective properties. 

You may either consume tulsi leaves raw or make a paste of it. For the paste you need 10-15 Tulsi leaves. Crush them to make a fine and smooth paste. You may consume it with honey or water. 

Consuming Tulsi every morning can result in healthy blood pressure levels.

7. Beetroot and Carrot

Consuming beetroot and carrot juice can maintain and regulate heart and kidney functions. The juice can help you maintain healthy blood pressure.

You must consume beetroot and carrot juice every morning or at least twice a week to have a healthier impact.

You may also consume this juice to overcome dizziness and other symptoms of hypotension.

8. Raisins

Consuming raw raisins or soaked raisins can is the fastest way to raise blood pressure levels and maintain them throughout the day.

This is the best and most ancient herbal and Aryuvedic remedy to treat low blood pressure levels.

9. Be Hydrated

Keeping yourself hydrated is very important if your blood pressure levels keep fluctuating. You may want to consume a variety of juices, fruits or simply water to ensure your body has enough circulation.

10. Consume smaller meals

Consuming a bigger proportion of foods at once may worsen the situation. Hence, it is advised to consume easy-to-digest meals when you’re suffering from low blood pressure.
